I purchased the DNP because I was pursuaded by the sales guy at the showroom. I looked at all that was on offer and in my mind discounted each model on the information that I had gained from the Photomart special article in Pro photo magazine. Stangely enough the DNP was not featured in the article. However on talking to the sales guy it ticked most of my boxes on my list and I also liked the look of the machine and the portability.

Setting up the DNP

On the face of it very simple – loading the media and connecting up to the PC. TheDNP does not come with Vista drivers and only has XP drivers. The DNP would not print from the PC. I went onto the web site which was hard to identify and on gaining access it had nothing on downloads for Vista (really odd I thought as the DNP was a new model in the UK) anyway I decided to contact the tech guy at Photomart and after lots of trial and error managed to get the DNP working. (the Tech guy was very good but I felt that the support from DNP was not there)

Using the DNP to make money

I have used the DNP now on several occasions and as I said earlier that the DNP was portable it is quite heavy and really needs a carry case of some kind. The machine has worked perfectly when used in anger and produces prints that are of a good quality. As previously stated the machine is easy to re-load with media and only takes a few minutes to train an operator in its use.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase and feel that the money has been well spent.

The DNP was attractive due to size, weight and internal printing mechanism.

Other benefits which were attractive to our new business, included competitive media, print catcher and printer profiles that met our needs straight out of the box.

We have found the internal printing and the protection from the surrounding environment is a real positive. Changing the media is a very straight forward procedure.

Customers have been most impressed with speed and quality of the photographs produced.

The time and unbiased approach by Silv ensured we would purchase from Photomart, but the above benefits, new technology and the awards won by the machine in America reinforced our decision.

Print quality is excellent, prints come out in seconds. The machine is very small in my view which is a bonus. I also like the thickness of the media and the strength once printed ( I did a rip test). Colours are great too and the drivers work with Windows 7. All in all a really good printer.

Just a quick thank you for your help yesterday and the speedy delivery of the 2 DS40 printers.

All connected and all working. A few tweaks to do to the system as a whole and then tomorrow I have to document it for delivery and training on site on Friday. Live day is Saturday but (touch wood) we have a good solution and I am confident we will deliver a system that exceeds significantly their original specification.
