Branding your mounts is one of the simplest ways to add a professional or personal dimension to the prints you deliver. For many photographers, having their studio name and contact details foil-stamped onto every frame is a natural extension of how they present their work — consistent, considered, and quietly effective marketing, keeping their name with the client long after the shoot is done.

Equally, tailoring the mount to the event itself with a name, date, or occasion detail adds a different kind of value. It enhances an already premium presentation by making the final piece feel personal to that moment, and clients recognise that difference immediately.

For artwork exceeding 4 inches, an additional charge applies per box. We can accommodate artwork up to 8 inches.

Occasion & date branding

Including a specific year, occasion, or event name within the branding is something many customers choose to do, and it is an option we are happy to accommodate. It gives the finished frame a sense of place in time that people tend to value.

It is worth being aware that a block made for a particular occasion will naturally be specific to that use, and a new block would be needed for future occasions. At £40+VAT per block, it remains a very accessible option for those who want that additional personal touch.

Available Foil Colours

Our standard range covers the most widely used foil finishes. Each is applied as a hot foil stamp, producing a clean and durable result. The right choice often comes down to the mount colour and the character of the occasion. Gold and silver tend to suit celebratory or formal work, while black offers a sharp, professional finish on lighter mounts. Red, green, and blue open up possibilities for themed, seasonal, or branded uses. Blind embossing creates a subtle raised impression with no colour at all — a refined option where restraint is preferred.

Providing Your Artwork

Send us your artwork and our team will always review it and prepare it correctly before any work begins. If any adjustments are needed, we will let you know and send a digital proof for your approval before the job is started.

Supply as a high-quality black-and-white PDF, EPS, or AI (Illustrator) vector file
Artwork must be solid black on white only — no shading, gradients, shadows, or colour
Vector format is strongly preferred for the cleanest foil reproduction
If vector files are not available, a high-resolution JPG may be accepted — please enquire first

Artwork examples — what works and what does not

✗ Not suitable

Gradient fill, drop shadow, and grey tones. The block cannot reproduce these — the result will be uneven or patchy.

✗ Not suitable

Colour gradient, reduced opacity, and grey sub-text. Colour and transparency cannot be replicated in foil blocking.

✓ Suitable

Solid black, no effects, no shading. Clean vector text on a white background — exactly what is needed.

✓ Suitable

Solid black throughout, including sub-text. All elements are in pure black — the block will reproduce this cleanly.
