Square Corners

What is included in the free branding block?
Your first branding block is created at no charge and held on file permanently. The block is your artwork — studio name, logo, or occasion text — prepared to the specification required for hot-foil stamping. It is used on every future order at no additional setup cost.

What is the minimum order for free branding?
Single-position branding is included free when ordering 10 or more boxes of the same size in one order — that is 1,000 or more mounts. For smaller orders, branding is available at £5 per box plus the £40+VAT block fee for first-time orders.

Can I include an occasion, date, or event name in the branding?
Yes. A date, event name, year, or occasion-specific text can be incorporated into the branding artwork. Each unique design requires its own block at £40+VAT. A different occasion or year would require a new block at the same cost.

What foil colours are available?
Standard colours are black, silver, gold, red, green, and blue. Blind embossing — a debossed impression with no foil colour — is also available. Additional colours can be arranged on request by contacting [email protected].

How long does an order take?
New block orders have a lead time of 12 working days from proof approval. Reorders using an existing block already held on file are fulfilled in 10 working days. Lead times begin once you have approved the digital proof.

What artwork do I need to provide?
Supply artwork as a solid black-on-white PDF, EPS, or Adobe Illustrator (AI) vector file. No gradients, shading, shadows, or colour — solid black elements only. A high-resolution JPG may be accepted if vector files are not available — contact us before sending. Our team reviews every file and sends a digital proof before production begins, at no charge.

What is the difference between the Contemporary and Classic ranges?
Both ranges use 1240gsm 100% recycled black board and are available with identical branding options and pricing. The Contemporary range has a single fine foil line around the aperture — minimal and modern. The Classic range has a thicker traditional foil border — bolder and more formal.

Four positions are available: L-shaped corner (the most popular — works in portrait and landscape without a separate block), 45-degree diagonal corner, horizontal along any edge, and back of mount. A second position can be added for £5 per box plus a further block fee of £40+VAT.

When selecting a mount for your photographs or prints, it is important to understand two key measurements: the insert size and the outer mount size.
Mounts are typically named according to the photo size they hold, rather than their external dimensions.
1 Insert Size
The insert refers to the photograph or print that sits behind the mount aperture. The print should be slightly larger than the aperture opening so it remains securely positioned behind the mount.
Example: A mount designed for a 4×6" photograph will usually have an aperture slightly smaller than 4×6".
2 Mount (Outer) Dimensions
The outer dimensions describe the full size of the mount itself. These measurements are important when choosing suitable packaging or frames.
Packaging: Bags or envelopes should always be slightly larger than the mount's outer dimensions.
