Photography and Video Show

This year, the Photography and Video Show was packed with incredible lighting and camera products. As for PHOTOMART, we celebrated our 30 years of industry expertise, and had a busy stand. We were accompanied by the infamous photographer Mike Weeks who was on hand to make quality shots with our lighting setups. The setups ranged throughout the day with changes being made between the brand new work-horse “DP” series and the lightning fast “QT” series which Godox has just released.

The Ins and Outs of What went Down

The Shooting Scene

The stand we took on was double-sided, with one side having a temporary studio setup, with a model on an Indian scout trike. Notice it was specially made in the Godox UK colours from Midwest Moto . The studio was set up using the QT600III and QT1200III as front and back lights, which were then changed to the DP600 and DP400 in their place, respectively. Accessory Kits accompanied the setup through the use of gel colours, snoots and reflectors in order to give the correct affect needed for the set-up.

Interacting with photographers, exchanging experience on quality shots, and even diving into giving out our best bytes was the most fun part of this scene. We even had a try before you buy setup to allow photographers to shoot different lighting equipment on the scene and purchase it there and then, once they knew it was what they needed.

The Busy Hive

Being the Official Distributor for Godox within the UK, we had an excellent time educating amateur and semi-pro photographers at the stand. Our best sellers, and newest products, were:

  • DP400 Pro - This studio flashes heat with full power and a top-notch recycle time of 1.0 seconds. It's aluminum sturdy body sparks that first sight and holds an impression. We highly recommend it because it is a reliable and durable studio strobe light. Did I mention that it budget-friendly?
  • DP600III - The advanced professional studio flash head as compared to its predecessors. Perfect for indoor and outdoor photography.
  • QT600III and QT1200III - The QT series of strobe lights are manual lights, and are well known for the high speed that comes with excellent short exposures. Their recycle times are at 0.9 seconds with maximum and 0.01 at minimum power. In comparison, the QT series are rulers when it comes to speed performance, with upgraded features to unleash creativity potential enhancing production in a fast-paced environment.
