Go Green with Photomart: Our Dye Sub Ribbon Recycling Scheme
At Photomart, we're deeply committed to environmental responsibility. We are proud to introduce the world's first dedicated recycling scheme for used dye-sublimation ribbons. Recognising the impact of waste in our industry, we've developed a simple and effective way for you to join us in creating a more sustainable future for photography.
Our Innovative Recycling Solution
Traditional waste disposal can lead to valuable resources ending up in landfills. Our recycling scheme aims to break this cycle by allowing you to easily return your used Photomart dye-sublimation ribbons to us. We then process these materials responsibly, ensuring they are repurposed or recycled appropriately, minimising their environmental footprint and rewarding you.
This initiative underscores our dedication to not only providing high-quality products but also to fostering environmentally conscious practices within the photographic community and inspiring you to join us in creating a better future.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What types of ribbons can I recycle? Only dye-sublimation ribbons bought from Photomart are accepted in this scheme. We would be more than happy to accept your ribbons for recycling only and help begin our green partnership (no reward given) Please note that ribbons for the DNP QW410 will only be legible for £25 credit. Media for the Hiti P310W, Hiti P322W and the Hiti S420 are not eligible for any credit towards your account.
- Why didn’t I receive my reward?
There are a few reasons why a recycling reward may not have been applied:
- The ribbons were not purchased at full price (e.g. discounted, negotiated, or part of a promotion).
- The return did not include your Name and Postcode, so we couldn’t match it to your account.
- You returned fewer than 10 ribbons in a single batch.
Our team always reviews each return and will contact you if a reward cannot be issued, clearly explaining the reason.
- Is there a cost to participate? Customers are responsible for the cost of return postage if choosing the postal service option. Drop off to our showroom is free.
- What happens to the ribbons once they are returned? We work with specialised recycling partners who break down the components and repurpose the materials - the energy created during the process is transformed into clean electricity and the ash is turned into asphalt which is given to construction companies.
- Can I recycle other types of printing consumables? Currently, this scheme is specifically for dye-sublimation ribbons. We are continuously evaluating opportunities to expand our recycling initiatives in the future.
- Do I need to clean the ribbons before sending them back? No, there is no need to clean the ribbons. Simply ensure they are securely packaged.
- Is there something else I need to do? Please ensure your Name & Postcode are included inside or written on the box you are sending, so we can process the reward correctly.
